Despite all dreaming about what we would do with the money, no one picked the winning numbers for last night’s $80 million Powerball, which means the jackpot will now soar to a whopping $100 million!
The Lott confirmed late last night that there were no tickets holding the lucky seven winning numbers and the all-important Powerball number needed to deliver the division one prize, prompting the jackpot to continue to roll for the seventh consecutive week.
Next Thursday’s $100 million draw is the second-biggest jackpot prize offered in Australian lottery history, which means if just one player takes home the entire prize, they’ll write their names into the history books as the nation’s second-biggest individual lottery winner.

While no one may have scored the division one prize, a total 1,912,529 prizes worth more than $33.35 million were won in divisions two to nine.
Among the winners, were two people who each took home a cool $92,407.70.
The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was looking forward to seeing more records tumble next week.
“We kicked off the year by crowning the country’s biggest individual lottery winner, a Sydney mum who scored a $107 million Powerball prize in January,” she said.
“Then just last week we saw a dad from Chatswood claim the title of Australia’s second-biggest individual lottery winner after taking home a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize of $96.04 million.
“But that record could be short-lived if just one player takes home the entire $100 million Powerball jackpot next week. We will just have to wait and see!”
Miss Cooney said up to one-in-three Australian adults were expected to buy an entry into next week’s draw.
“For this week’s $80 million draw, we saw brisk trade at our lottery outlets around the country and online. The peak of ticket sales today was at 4.52pm when 3,646 tickets were sold instore and online in 60 seconds,” she said.
“During the coming week, people across the country will find themselves daydreaming about what they’d do with $100 million in their bank account, and for one or multiple players these dreams could become a reality.”
The numbers drawn last night were 16, 4, 14, 2, 29, 19 and 27 and the all-important Powerball number was 13.
