NRL star pleads not guilty to rape charges

NRL star Jack de Belin has pleaded not guilty to rape charges during his first court appearance in New South Wales.

The Dragons and Origin star was charged with aggravated sexual assault in company after the alleged attack on a 19-year-old woman in a Wollongong unit in the early hours of December 9.

The 27-year-old denied the charges in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday and the matter was adjourned to April 17.
De Belin is still expected to line up for St George when the NRL season officially kicks off in March and the Magistrate this morning allowed him to ditch a bail reporting condition so he is able to play football interstate.
His friend, Callan Sinclair, was also charged with the same offence and will also appear in court today.
