NSW: 2yo girl killed and her baby brother critically injured in highway crash

A two-year-old girl is dead and her baby brother is critically injured after the car they were travelling in rolled off a highway in rural NSW.

The children’s mother was driving along the New England Highway near Willow Tree, south of Tamworth, on Monday night when the car rolled off the road, landing down an embankment.

Passersby stopped to help and found the young girl dead at the scene.


The 11-month-old boy was airlifted to a Newcastle hospital in a critical condition.

Their mother was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Crash investigators are now trying to work out what caused the fatal accident.
