NSW: Baby boy escapes nasty two-car crash uninjured

AN eight-month-old baby boy has miraculously escaped serious injury after the car he was in rolled after it was T-boned at a busy intersection in Sydney’s Inner West.

Police said a Toyota Camry slammed into the side of a Toyota Prado at the intersection with Edwin Flack Avenue and Uhrig Road in Homebush around 10.30am on Thursday.

The impact was so great, the Prado was flipped onto its side. Its 35-year-old female driver and two passenger, a 72-year-old woman and an eight-month-old baby boy escaped uninjured.

Police said the 51-year-old male driver of the Camry failed to stop after the collision. He was located by police a short time later in Olympic Boulevard.

The 72-year-old female passenger of the Prado was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital as a precaution.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

No charges have been laid.
