NSW: Bush walkers stumble across dead body

POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help identify a female who was located deceased at Redhead, a suburb of Lake Macquarie yesterday.

About 2.25pm, police were called to a path off Ocean Street, Redhead, after reports a body had been found by two bush walkers.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended and located the body of a female.

The circumstances surrounding the female’s death are not considered suspicious; however, police are now attempting to identify her and are appealing for public assistance.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 15 and 25, thin build, fair skin and bright dyed red hair.

She has a number of tattoos including; three small stars on her right hip, a love heart on her left hip and the letters K & P on either side; and an Egyptian eye on her left thigh.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about the identity of the female to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
