NSW: Charges laid after man was assaulted with a firearm

A man has been charged after he allegedly struck another man with a firearm in Orange at the weekend.

According to police, at about 2.30am on Saturday, a 21-year-old man returned to his Myora Place home, passing a vehicle parked in a nearby driveway.

The vehicle had five people inside, all known to him, and were allegedly talking loudly.


He asked them to be quiet and in doing so, it’s alleged the front passenger got out of the vehicle and struck him across the chest with a firearm before pointing it at him.

The group left the premises without further incident.

Police were called and an investigation was commenced.

A 39-year-old man while he was walking on Spring Street on Sunday afternoon.

He was taken to Orange Police Station where he was charged with armed with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and intimidation.

He was refused bail and will next appear in Orange Local Court on Monday 12 October 2015.
