NSW child care worker charged with assaulting two-year-old girl as she slept

A NSW child care worker has been charged with the indecent assault of a two-year-old girl at a centre in Sydney’s inner west.

Police were told a colleague witnessed the girl being indecently assaulted while sleeping at the centre on Wednesday 13 May 2015.

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad at Bankstown commenced investigations and arrested a 24-year-old McGraths Hill man on Tuesday.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with indecent assault of person under 16 years. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 June 2015.

Parents of children at the centre have been notified of the incident.
