NSW Constable charged, accused of accessing restricted police data

A NSW Constable has been charged, accused of misconduct after allegedly accessing restricted information on a police computer.

The 35-year-old male officer, who is attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, is alleged to have accessed the sealed data in January.

Following investigations by the Professional Standards Command, the officer was on Tuesday issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for “unauthorised access to restricted data held in computer”.

He has since been placed on restricted duties until his court appearance on Monday 4 July.
