NSW: Couple killed in horror highway crash

TWO people have been killed in a horror two-car crash on the New England Highway in North-West NSW.

Police say a white Toyota and a red Subaru collided on the stretch of road near Wallabadah, south of Tamworth, at around 3.30pm on Saturday.

A couple aged in their 60s travelling in the Subaru, which was forced off the highway and down a small gully, died at the scene.

The Toyota rolled, and its 69-year-old male driver and 67-year-old female passenger were taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with minor injuries.

The New England Highway was closed in both directions for up to six hours as the Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene.
