A MAN has been charged after going on a violent rampage through Kings Cross overnight where it’s alleged he broke an elderly man’s wrist, elbowed a woman in the face and head-butted a cafe manager who tried intervening.
Police say the violent scenes unfolded along Darlinghurst Road shortly before 7pm on Saturday when a 35-year-old man who was walking north from Kings Cross Railway Station started harassing members of the public.
It’s understood that at around 6.45pm, the highly agitated man shoved a 79-year-old man to the ground, causing him to break his wrist, before allegedly elbowing a woman in the face and head-butting a 44-year-old male cafe manager who tried to intervene.

The man from Woolloomooloo was detained by police a short time later on Earl Place.
He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station and charged with a string of serious offences, including one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and two counts of common assault.
He was refused bail and scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing, with police yet to identify or speak to the woman who was allegedly assaulted.
