NSW: Kids approached by “man in white van”

POLICE are appealing for information after two young children were allegedly approached by a man in a white van near Shellharbour yesterday.

It’s understood the two ten-year-old boys were riding their pushbikes along Burrinjuck Avenue at Flinders about 5.50pm when, as they approached a reserve, they allegedly passed a white van with dark tinted windows and heard a male voice call out to them.

When the passenger door opened, police said the boys became scared and rode home.

The incident was reported to one of the boys’ mother, who contacted police.

Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, however, the vehicle was not located.

As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has information that may assist with their inquiries to contact Crime Stoppers.
