NSW man accused of assaulting girl at train station to face court

A man has been charged, after a girl was assaulted at Central Railway Station in Sydney on Monday.

It’s claimed the 23-year-old man started talking to a 13-year-old who was waiting on a platform, but she missed her train.

It’s then alleged that the man took her to a secluded area and indecently assaulted her.

A passer-by rushed to help and the man ran off. The incident was reported to police.

About 7pm on Tuesday, officers from Police Transport Command arrested the 23-year-old at Central Railway Station after he was recognised.

He was taken to Sydney City Police Station where he was charged with aggravated indecent assault.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Wednesday.
