NSW man accused of stealing guns

A man is accused of stealing two firearms in inland New South Wales.

In all he’s been charged with 17 offences, after he was arrested in Wellington on Friday.

On Wednesday Police executed a search warrant at a home on Parkes Street, where two guns, suspected of being stolen, were located.

Then at around 6:00am on Friday, police were called to a home on Gobolion Street, Wellington, amid reports a man had allegedly broken into the premises.

A 27-year-old man was stopped at the scene, when it’s alleged he attempted to resist arrest and assaulted police.

The man was arrested a short time later and taken to Wellington Police Station.

He has been charged with 17 offences, including break and enter house steal value more than $60,000, goods suspected stolen on premises, possess unauthorised firearm, and possess ammunition without a holding licence.

The man was refused bail, to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Saturday.

Several Police Officers were hurt, but not badly enough to require treatment.
