NSW man accused of trying to get teen to send him explicit material

A Coffs Harbour man has been charged after allegedly trying to get a teenage girl to send him indecent material online.

Detectives have been investigating the online activities of a man from Boambee East.

They allege the man engaged online with a 14-year-old girl over a number of months, sending and requesting material classified as indecent.

About 7am yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s home, seizing a number of items.

A 54-year-old man was placed under arrest and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service to solicit child abuse material and use carriage service to send indecent material to child under 18 years.

He was refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
