NSW: Man bashed with bat, gun in terrifying home invasion

A MAN has allegedly been bludgeoned with a bat and beaten with the butt of a gun in a terrifying home invasion in Sydney’s west.

Police said two men armed with a baseball bat and a firearm burst into the Rossvale Street home at Toongabbie just after 11pm on Wednesday.

The pair allegedly used the weapons to bash the 57-year-old man inside the house before fleeing.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital with a nasty head injury. He was transported in a stable condition.

The man’s house was declared a crime scene and examined by forensic police overnight.

Investigations into the attack are continuing. Anyone with any information is urged to come forward.
