NSW man charged with assaulting boy with metal dog lead

A man has been charged with assaulting an eight-year-old boy with a metal dog lead at a Wollongong park last month.

He’s accused of assaulting the little boy after he accidentally ran in to the man’s dog while riding his bike on May 15.

He then ran from the scene.


The child suffered an injury to his back and received medical treatment immediately after the incident.

Officers were alerted to the incident and commenced investigations and arrested a 55-year-old man yesterday afternoon.

He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was granted conditional bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 18 July.
