NSW man charged with child grooming online

Brisbane Water Local Area Command detectives have charged a man over alleged child grooming offences committed last year.

Following a referral from police in Western Australia, police commenced an online inquiry into the activities of a 23-year-old man.

Following investigations, about 9am today, Friday 20 November 2015, Brisbane Water detectives arrested a 23-year-old man at a home in Woy Woy.


Police also seized a laptop computer and a mobile phone from the premises, which will be forensically examined.

The man was taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with use carriage service to groom (person under 16 years) for sexual activity, use carriage service to transmit indecent communication (to Person under 16 years) and possess child abuse material.

He has been granted conditional bail, to appear at Gosford Local Court on 15 December 2015.
