NSW man due in court on weapons and drugs charges

A man will face court, after Police searched a car on the New South Wales Central Coast on Wednesday, allegedly finding weapons and drugs.

At about 3.15pm Officers approached a green Ford Falcon parked in a service station car park on Memorial Avenue.

Police say during a search they found methylamphetamine, scales, a knife, a baseball bat, ammunition and an action rifle.

All items will be examined by Forensic Officers.

A 26-year-old man in the vehicle was arrested at the scene and taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with possession of a prohibited drug, custody of a knife in a public place, possession of ammunition without a licence, and custody of an offensive implement in a public place.

The man was refused bail, to appear at Gosford Local Court on Thursday.
