NSW: Man killed, pet dog injured in horror crash

AN elderly man has been killed and his pet dog injured in a horror crash on the NSW Central Coast this afternoon.

Police said the 83-year-old man was driving along Wallarah Road at Gorokan around 2.50pm when he lost control of his Hyundai Excel. The vehicle left the road and slammed into a power pole.

The man died at the scene. Emergency services arrived to find his body slumped over the steering wheel.

The man’s pet dog was also found injured inside the vehicle. It was taken to a local vet for treatment.

Inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
