NSW: Men charged over violent home invasion

TWO men have been charged over a violent home invasion on the Central Coast where a 52-year-old resident was viciously beaten over the head.

Police and emergency services were called to the home on Melville Street, Kincumber, just after 9.15pm on Tuesday after two men allegedly attended the home and demanded to be let in, before forcing entry and assaulting the 52-year-old male resident.

The pair then fled from the home.

The resident was treated by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Gosford Hospital for lacerations to his face.

Detectives from Brisbane Water Local Area Command commenced inquiries and arrested a 52-year-old man at his home in Saratoga on Wednesday.

Following further inquiries, a 60-year-old Kincumber man was arrested at Gosford Police Station yesterday.

Both men were charged with aggravated break and enter, and commit serious indictable offence (assault occasioning actual bodily harm).

They have been granted strict conditional bail and are due to appear at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday 22 September 2015.
