NSW: Police call for witnesses after man robbed at knifepoint waiting at bus stop

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at a bus stop in Fairfield last night.

An 18-year-old man was standing at a bus stop on The Crescent near the intersection of Smart Street about 8.40pm when he was approached by a man.

The man threatened the teen with a knife demanding he hand over his property, the teen complied and handed over cash before the man ran away.

The teen attended Fairfield Police Station and reported the robbery.

Officers commenced an investigation, and searched the area however they were unable to locate the man.

Investigators are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or may have information that may assist with their inquiries are urged to call Fairfield Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

The man was described to police as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with an olive complexion, between 165 and 170cm tall, aged in his late 20s and black hair.

He was wearing a black long sleeve dirty t-shirt with holes in it, light brown shorts, no shoes and had a number of tattoos including; one that wrapped around his lower leg under his knee, one on his neck and a tear drop under his right eye.
