DOZENS of diners have narrowly avoided being gunned down after a bullet was fired into a busy restaurant in Sydney’s west overnight.
The single shot was fired into the Harris Park eatery on Wigram Street just before 9pm, smashing through a front window and striking a shelf.
Miraculously, none of the 30 to 40 customers and staff inside at the time were injured.

Scores of police swooped on the area and set-up a crime scene which was overnight being examined by forensic officers.
Police believe the shot may have been fired by somebody on foot and are calling for witnesses to comes forward.
“At this stage investigations suggest the shot was fired by somebody on foot however inquiries are continuing,” police said in a statement.
“A male wearing a blue tracksuit was seen running south on Wigram Street after the incident.”
