NSW: Police injured, father and son stabbed during wild street disturbance

A POLICE officer has been injured and a father and son stabbed in dramatic scenes outside a home in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to Excelsior Street at Guildford just before 5.30pm on Sunday where they found two men, a father and his son, with stab wounds.

It’s understood the pair, aged 42 and 21, had been stabbed during a fight with another man in the street.

When police arrived, a number of family members and onlookers allegedly confronted the officers, at which time a male Sergeant suffered minor injuries.

Back up was called to disperse the crowd and the injured men were both taken to Westmead Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Parramatta Police Station where, at the time of writing, he was assisting detectives with their inquiries.
