NSW police officer allegedly caught shoplifting in Sydney

A senior constable with the NSW Police Force has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly caught shoplifting in Sydney.

The officer was off-duty at the time of the offence, which is alleged to have occurred around 11.45am on Wednesday 22 June.

It’s alleged the officer failed to pay for some clothing.

The senior constable was arrested by officers from Operation Lightfingers.

In a statement to media, police said the officer is attached to a specialist command.

He was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of larceny.

He is expected to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 8 August.
