NSW Police searching for woman after two officers sprayed with unknown substance

NSW Police are trying to track down a woman after two officers were sprayed with an unknown substance during a protest on Tuesday.

A bunch of people turned out to the unauthorised Knox Park demonstration, despite being under lockdown restrictions.

Police also responded, speaking to a number of attendees in relation to breaches of the Public Health Order.

One woman was arrested, which caused the crowd to become hostile towards police and some tried to obstruct the officers.

Police say that a second woman then approached them and sprayed an unknown substance in the face of two male senior constables.

“This caused an immediate burning sensation for the officers’, and the woman left,” the police statement reads.

“Neither officer required hospital treatment and decontaminated themselves.”

NSW Police have now released a photo of the woman they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
