NSW: Police seek witnesses after man bashed, dumped at hospital with head injuries

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was dumped outside a hospital on the NSW Mid North Coast last night suffering head injuries.

It was about 11pm when the 49-year-old man stumbled into the Kempsey Base Hospital, bleeding from the head.

He told staff he’d been assaulted by an unknown group of men on Marsh Street and was dropped outside the hospital by an unknown person driving a small silver hatchback.

Police were called and officers conducted an extensive search of the area and, despite a thorough canvas, have been unable to determine the exact location of the incident or locate any witnesses.

They are appealing for anyone with information that may assist with their inquiries to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

In particular, they would like to speak with the person who drove the man to hospital.
