COVID cases in New South Wales have surged again with a massive 5715 new infections recorded on Thursday.
That’s a jump of almost 2000 cases in one day.
The state also recorded one further death.

There are currently 347 people in hospital in New South Wales an increase of 45, with 45 of those in ICU.
The number of active cases has grown to 27,093.
More than 160,000 tests were carried out in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Victoria has also seen an increase in cases with 2005 new infections, up from 1503 on Thursday, along with 10 deaths.
There are 398 people in the state’s hospitals with COVID.
Of those 72 are in ICU with 39 patients on ventilators.
Victoria now has 14,801 active cases.
