NSW records no new coronavirus cases for first time since start of pandemic

New South Wales has recorded no new coronavirus cases overnight, for the first time in weeks.

That’s despite over 6,000 tests being carried out in the last 24 hour period to 8.00pm last night.

It’s the first time the state has recorded no new cases since they first began reporting cases at the start of March.

However, Premier Gladys Berejiklian has warned that this will not always be the case, especially going forward with the easing of restrictions.

“We should measure our success by making sure we have a good level of economic activity and normality in our lives while maintaining a manageable rate of case numbers.

“That is our objective, to get that balance right, but also to make sure we keep everybody as safe as possible and in particular protect those most vulnerable in our community,” the Premier said.
