A SERIAL thief wanted over a spate of recent bicycle thefts from Bondi Train Station in Sydney’s east has been arrested after police allegedly caught him in the act.

Following a month-long investigation into the reported thefts, at about 6.25pm on Thursday, officers patrolling the train station allegedly observed a 22-year-old man cutting a security chain and stealing a bicycle from a bike rack.

The young man was arrested a short distance away and taken to Waverly Police Station where he was questioned by police who subsequently raided a home on Botany Road, Alexandria, where they allegedly located seven bicycles, a replica firearm and ammunition.
