NSW smashes COVID record with 11,201 cases, Vic cases up

COVID cases in New South Wales have exploded with the state recording a massive 11,201 new infections overnight.

That’s up by more than 5000 cases on Tuesday’s numbers.

The state also recorded three deaths.


It comes after more than 157,000 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours.

There are now 625 people being treated for COVID in hospital with 61 in ICU.

Victoria has also seen a sharp jump in cases, recording 3767 new infections and five deaths.

That’s a new record daily high for the state.

The number of people in hospital has increased to 397 with 62 patients in ICU.

More than 75,000 tests were done across the state on Tuesday.
