NSW teenagers admit lighting campfire that sparked out of control blaze

Two 16-year-old boys have accidentally started a major blaze north of Newcastle.

They told police they lit a campfire in the Shoal Bay area near Port Stephens before 1:00PM (AEDT) on Saturday.  Only problem is there is a total fire ban in place.

The fire spread out of control and burnt out an acre of bushland.
