NSW town hit by earthquake

A New South Wales town has been hit by a magnitude 2.3 earthquake.

The quake, recorded at 10:21am, struck near the New South Wales town of Lithgow on Tuesday.

Witnesses reported businesses shaking and a loud bang as the quake hit.

Geoscience Australia said they had received more than 40 reports from people in the region.
