NSW, Vic record 15,712 cases, 21 deaths

New South Wales has recorded another drop in COVID-19 cases, with 7,437 infections detected in the past 24 hours.

That’s down from 7,893 COVID-19 cases reported on Sunday.

Today’s daily COVID-19 numbers are the lowest the state has recorded since Christmas.

There’s also been a large fall in the number of deaths recorded across the state, with 7 deaths today, compared to 28 yesterday.

There are now 2,099 people being treated for the virus in hospital, down from 2,321 on Sunday.

Of those, 137 are in intensive care.

Meantime, Victoria has recorded 8,275 new cases of COVID-19 and a further 7 deaths.

There are currently 638 patients being treated in hospital, down from 652 yesterday.
