NSW: Woman arrested, charged over serious one-punch assault outside club

A WOMAN has been arrested and charged following an investigation into a serious one-punch assault in Sanctuary Point last month.

About 12.30am on Saturday 8 August, police say a 51-year-old woman was outside a club on Links Avenue, Sanctuary Point, when a fight started nearby.

The woman attempted to intervene, but was reportedly punched to the head by another woman.

Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command were called to the location and commenced investigations.

The 51-year-old woman from Ulladulla was taken to St George Hospital with serious head injuries that have required ongoing treatment.

About 9am yesterday, following investigations, a 22-year-old Sanctuary Point woman was arrested at Nowra Police Station.

She was charged with reckless wounding and granted strict conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on Monday 12 October 2015.
