NSW woman charged with grooming school boys for sexual activity

A female employee at a school in the NSW hunter region has been charged with grooming children for sexual activity.

The 50-year-old woman was charged after police launched a dedicated strike force to investigate allegations an employee at a school within the Port Stephens Local Area Command was procuring and grooming children in 2015.

Police allege the woman sent a number of explicit text messages and made a number of phone calls to two school boys, aged 15 and 16.

She attended Raymond Terrace Police Station on Wednesday afternoon, where she was charged with groom child for unlawful sexual activity, use carriage service to groom child under 16 years for sex and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

The woman was given conditional bail to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 6 November.

Police confirmed she was no longer employed by the school.
