NSW: Woman escapes encounter with knife-wielding man unhurt

POLICE are calling for witnesses to come forward after a man allegedly attempted to rob a woman in a car park at Campbelltown on Friday morning.

About 9.55am, police say the 34-year-old woman was sitting in her car, at a car park at a shopping centre on Gilchrist Drive, when a man approached the driver’s side door.

The man allegedly threatened the woman with a knife and demanded cash.

The woman bravely refused to comply with the armed man’s demands and he became agitated before walking away.

Police say the man was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 30’s, of slim build, between 173cm and 179cm tall and stubble on his face. He was wearing a red hooded jacket and denim jeans.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery or has information that may assist with their inquiries to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
