NSW: Wombats killed in horrific fashion at NSW camp site

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the shocking discovery of 10 dead wombats, including four feeding mothers, all believed to have been deliberately run over and killed at a popular family camp site at Kangaroo Valley.

Officers were called to the Bendeela camping ground yesterday morning, where they found the dead animals.

Investigators believe they were deliberately run over between 9.30pm on Friday and 8.30am Saturday.

Witnesses told police they saw a white 4WD driving around the area throughout the night, however, no one witnessed the animals being killed.

An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for any further witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
