NSW: Women ‘indencently assaulted’ while walking through affluent Sydney suburb

POLICE are appealing for information as they try and track down a man responsible for a string of alleged indecent assaults in Sydney’s affluent inner city suburb of Surry Hills.

It’s alleged that, in four separate incidents between the hours of 5am and 7am yesterday, four women walking through the suburb were approached and allegedly indecently assault by an unknown man.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred on Belmore St, Reservoir St, Crown St and on the corner of Foveaux and Elizabeth Streets.

Surry Hills police are investigating the claims and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described by all four women as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, aged between 20-30, with a medium build, about 170cm and with short dark hair.

Police say the man wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, black shoes and a small black backpack at the time of the alleged assaults, and could possibly have a Spanish or similar sounding accent.

Detectives are wantin g to speak with anyone who may have information about other, similar incidents, in the area at the time.
