A WOMAN who escaped from a correctional centre in the Gold Coast hinterland almost three weeks ago has finally been caught by police.
The 24-year-old was among two female inmates who absconded from the Numinbah Valley correctional centre on September 10.
She was taken into custody after being found at a home in Carindale just after 7.30am this morning.

Police charged the woman with two counts of fail to stop motor vehicle, one count each of escape lawful custody and attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
She is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court this afternoon.
The other escapee, aged 21, was found and arrested by police in Moorina on September 18.
