Occupants assaulted in frightening home invasion

Police are appealing for information following a home invasion in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police say two men, one who was armed with a machete, forced their way into a home on Stolle Street, Shalvey, shortly after midnight and threatened two male occupants.

The two offenders allegedly demanded money and assaulted the two occupants before fleeing with a small amount of property.

The male occupants, aged 30 and 46, were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.

Police said a third occupant, a 73-year-old woman, was unharmed and in another room at the time of the incident.

The two men are described as both being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance and about 183cm tall.

One had a solid build and was wearing a blue jumper and brown pants, while the other had a medium build and was warning a light blue jumper and blue jeans.

Police said both men were also wearing baseball caps.

Anyone with any information that could assist police with their investigation in the incident is urged to come forward.
