ON THE RUN: NSW man wanted for child sex offences may be in Qld, police warn

A MAN wanted for child sex offences in NSW is on the run and may be in Queensland, police say.

Officers from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad are desperately appealing for help from the community to track down Joseph Lowe, however they have warned people not to approach him if sighted because he may be armed.

“Police have received information Mr Lowe may be in possession of firearms,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“If sighted, members of the community are urged not to approach Mr Lowe; instead, they should contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.”

The 51-year-old is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, with a thin build, light brown hair, and hazel eyes.

Investigators believe the man, who is from Lightning Ridge, may have travelled to North Queensland.

Anyone with information that may assist detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
