UPDATE: Man dies in hospital following violent stabbing in Logan

Update @ 9.45am: Police have confirmed a 40-year-old man, who was violently stabbed in Logan this morning, has passed away as a result of his injuries.

He was rushed to hospital shortly after 5.00am this morning, with significant head, neck and chest injuries.

Another 40-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries.


Police say they’re treating the death as suspicious, and investigations are underway.

Earlier @ 7.30am: A man is in critical condition in hospital after a stabbing in Woodridge earlier this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Defiance Road around 5.00am.

On arrival, a man was found with significant head, neck and chest injuries following a wounding incident.

He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, with critical care paramedics and the high acuity response team on board.

Police have confirmed that a man has been taken into custody over the attack.

A crime scene has also been established at the intersection of Woodridge Road and Defiance Road.

Investigations are underway.
