One dead after cars, motorbike collide

A MAN has been killed in a shocking crash between a motorbike and two cars in the NSW Hunter Valley.

It happened on the New England Highway near Whittingham shortly before 7.30pm on Friday.

Sadly, NSW Police said the 50-year-old man riding the motorbike died from his injuries at the scene.

All southbound lanes of the highway were closed at the Golden Highway while the scene was examined.

Northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane, while southbound traffic was diverted.

The Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
