One dead after truck rolls on regional highway

A TRUCK driver has been killed in a shocking crash southeast of Melbourne.

It happened on the South Gippsland Highway at Koonwarra on Saturday morning.

Police said a prime mover towing a milk tank trailer flipped and rolled off the highway around 5.45am.


Its driver, a 50-year-old man from Meeniyan died at the scene.

Wonthaggi police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and are urging witnesses to come forward.

It’s the second fatal truck crash in Victoria in as many days.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death after crashing his prime mover into a ute, killing its driver in the state’s north on Friday.
