One dead in three-car crash

ONE person has been killed and another seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Sydney’s lower north shore.

Police said three cars collided on the Burns Bay Road Bridge at Huntleys Point about 11:35am (12:35pm AEDT).

A man aged in his 80s sustained life-threatening injuries and was treated by ambulance paramedics at the scene.


Sadly, in a statement at 12:32pm (1:23pm AEDT), police confirmed the elderly man had died from his injuries.

The man died while being conveyed to hospital, the statement said.

A second man sustained multiple fractures and has been taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment.

His age was not immediately known.

Forensic Crash investigators have travelled to the scene and will examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
