One dead, one injured in freak accident at Sydney tip
A worker has been killed and another seriously injured after becoming trapped under landfill at a waste disposal centre in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to the facility on Kangaroo Ave at Eastern Creek at around 12.45pm following reports two people were trapped.
It’s understood the men were covered by rubbish being pushed by heavy machinery.
Other workers on the site tried frantically to dig the pair out from under the debris.
One man, whose age is not known, was unable to be saved and died at the scene.
