One dead, three seriously injured in crash with petrol tanker

ONE person has been killed and three others injured in a horror crash involving a petrol tanker on the NSW South Coast.

It happened on the Princes Highway at Albion Park Rail just before 2.30am on Saturday.

Police said a Ford Territory smashed into the back of the tanker as it was turning out of Creole Street.


Sadly, one of three passengers in the Ford Territory could not be saved and died at the scene.

The driver and two other passengers – a male and two females – were taken to various hospitals in serious conditions.

Their ages were not immediately known.

The Princes Highway was closed in all directions while the scene was examined and wreckage cleared.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision to come forward.
