One dead, two fighting for life in separate Sydney crashes

A woman has died after a head-on collision with a bus in Sydney’s west.

Paramedics were called to Feodore Drive at Cecil Hills around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The 50-year-old driver, who was the only occupant of the car, died at the scene.


The 42-year-old male bus driver suffered a minor hand injury and was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Meantime a pedestrian is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a motorbike in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The woman was crossing Military Rd at Dover Heights around 6.30pm on Wednesday when she was hit.

She suffered serious head injuries and was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The male motorcyclist suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

It comes as Police charge a driver after a cyclist was left fighting for life after a crash at Cronulla early on Boxing Day.

A 63-year-old man remains in a critical condition after being struck on Captain Cook Drive.

The 72-year-old driver has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

He was released on bail and will front court on January 10.
