Woman miraculously survives horror hinterland crash

UPDATE: A WOMAN has miraculously survived after plunging 80 metres off a cliff in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Beechmont Road at Lower Beechmont about 10 am.

It’s understood the woman, who was riding a motorbike, failed to negotiate a sharp bend in the winding road and went over the edge near Brushbox Road.

The woman, who is believed to be a learner rider, plunged about 80 metres down the side of the mountain.

Incredibly, however, Queensland Ambulance said the woman survived the fall with only a leg injury.

Firefighters were called in to help retrieve the rider and bring her back up to the road.

The woman was treated at the scene before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Queensland Ambulance said the she was transported in a stable condition.

Her age was not immediately known.
