A YOUNG man has died, and a man and woman have been injured in a horror head-on crash in NSW overnight.
The accident happened on Wirrinya Road, about 11km south of the Newell Highway at Forbes around 6.45pm.
“Initial inquiries suggest a Landcruiser utility and a Toyota Hilux utility have collided head on,” NSW police said in a statement.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, the driver of the Landcruiser, a 20-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 52-year-old man, sustained multiple leg fractures. He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
The man’s front seat passenger, a 46-year-old woman, also sustained multiple fractures and was taken by ambulance to Orange Base Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
A crime scene has since been established at the crash site, with the Crash Investigation Unit continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
